Take Me Home, Country Roads

It felt so good to be back "home" in Randolph this past weekend! It had been a long eight weeks since we last spent time in "heaven".
It turned out to be a perfect weekend! The weather was cool and refreshing, Dallin and Mia drove up with us on Friday and spent the day with us. We visited the Country Fair events going on across the street including the 4-H exhibits where the kids got to see cows, hogs, sheep, goats, rabbits, and watched a chicken lay an egg!! (so that's where they come from!!) We spent time at the park, made our usual trip to the "Station" for goodies, did crafts and made pizza.
Katie came up later in the day and we got to play some Bocci (Italian Lawn Bowling). The kids got really good at it! We even went to the Rodeo and saw bucking broncos and bulls. Mia was very curious to know what made them jump and buck so much which led to an interesting discussion!
Here is a picture of a very happy Beth and Frank! We spent time this weekend pondering what makes Randolph so magical for us. We came up with a few reasons: 1) we have day dreamed and mentally escaped to Randolph for more than 10 years and now the dream has come true, 2) the townspeople have welcomed us so warmly, 3) the living is simple and easy and it feels like we step back in time whenever we are there, 4) the air is so clear, clean and fresh, 5) it is so quiet, 6) it has been so rewarding to put some sweat and elbow grease in to turning the old place into a comfortable welcoming abode, 7) we BOTH love it which makes it particularly sweet, and the list could go on and on. We enjoy everything about Randolph and feel incredibly privileged to be a part of that little community.
