We Love our Texas Kids

It is hard to imagine the emotional adventure that you three (5 counting the pups) have been on!! Being displaced from your home and familiar surroundings is something most of us have not experienced. God bless your Aunt Vicki and Uncle John for taking our little refugees in and helping them to "weather the storm". We were so happy when you were all able to be reunited in Louisiana.
You are not surprised to know that we were all watching the news and praying for your safety and protection for your home. We are so grateful that you found your home in good repair.
I don't know about you, but the word "preparedness" takes on a whole new meaning after what you have been through. Your preparedness paid off. No doubt your list of preparedness items and tasks has grown/adjusted after what you have been through.
So glad to have you home, together and safe and sound.
We love our Texas kids!!!

Tending Ty

We had our very first chance to tend Ty along with his siblings last week while Cami and AJ went to a company event in Park City for the evening. He was a good as gold!!!
He was happy to have his three B's, bottle, blanket and binky!!! He fell asleep in the bassinet and Cami said that he stayed asleep until the next morning at 6 a.m.
It is always fun to have great tending helpers....Jared, Katie and Brenna were home to help provide entertainment, hugs and attention. It is absolutely great to be grandparents!!!!

Homemade Fun!

We had the blessed opportunity to tend four of our fabulous grandchildren last week. We had some terrific homemade fun! After helping me trim the Forsythia Bushes the kids used the long twigs in a variety of ways....it became a Samurai Sword for Dallin...
...A tickle stick for Ethan....
... and a fishing pole for Mia. She even cut a piece of paper to make fish.
Later we came inside and made homemade playdough (I have a real good recipe if anyone is interested). Here Ethan is putting mini Easter Eggs into a basket.
Dallin put his homemade quiver to practice with some bow and arrow target practice. Don't worry....He made sure that Ethan and Mia were safely behind him and away from the direction the arrows were flying.
We always have a fun time when the kids come over to play.

Baby Shower for Brenna/Bridget

Cami hosted a delightful baby open house for Brenna last Saturday. It was fun to see friends and family. Cousin Stephanie Rich Boose brought her two week old Bradley.
Mia enjoyed being one of the "ladies" along with with Grandma Brown, Mel, Cousin Sarah Young, Merri, Stephanie and Libby Clawson.
Mike's aunts, cousins, sister Laura, Mom Vivian, and Grandma Dearden were among some of the other ladies to attend.

What a great birthday!! Thanks, Everyone!!

My birthday was practically perfect in everyway. The family gathered for some of Frank's good cooking which included Chip Steak Sandwiches and Eggplant Parmesan Sandwiches with lots of good side dishes. Candice and Remington on are here visiting which means that the only one missing was Keith who was battening down the hatches waiting for Hurricane Gustav to strike the Gulf Coast. We had a very delightful time!! Thanks, family, for a very good day. I love you all!!
